Jaclaz's MKIMG batch is still a mystery for me,im not familiar with it, if i remember well i have a little tutorial by sheren a while back bt can not find it now,it is not like i want this erd to boot from usb, i already got it working 5.0 and 6.0 both, bt thing is i really want to learn that jaclaz's tech. I mean using it. I have seen it recently in cdob's post in RC also.bt i guess erd is the best option for me to start learning the MRIMG and get erd.iso working in another way.thanks for the efforts online, it seems it ll be my starting point to learn jaclaz's magics.
Can anyone help? I've been trying to get this working for about a week now.I tried to fit all the details I could inside this screenshot. The general idea is to:. FIRST choose one suggestred way. SECOND replicate it EXACTLY.
THIRD try introducing variations to it once the EXACT same method worksAt first sight you have erd50.is inside folder boot (i.e. Booterd50.is ) whilst the WINNT.SIF points to erd50.is (i.e. Erd50.is)Thanks to pointings of Shirin Zaban and cdob I've found the most versatile way in order to boot ERD Commander 5.00 (that's 'erd50.iso') from your USB Flash Drive (using 'grub4dos' as boot loader) with minimal hacking.Copy in your mounted image root:'erd50.is' file.Try either moving erd50.is to ROOT of the drive or try changingrdpath=booterd50.isWonko.
I have the dsk image inside boot on the UFD. The disk image contains the winnt.sif, ntdetect.com, setupldr.bin, and the erd50.is cab.I tried moving it to root and editing the menu.lst and now when it boots it can't find textsetup.sif.Hmmm. Well, following exactly those instructions gives me two errors: for the first menu.lst entry it says it can't find erd50.is and for the second menu.lst entry, it just says 'Remove disks or other media. Press any key to restart'.In the tutorial I was following, he says to hexedit erd50.dsk and replace NTLDR with SETUPLDRBIN.

Doing that also produces the same error.Loading ramdisk image.Windows could not start due to an error while booting from a RAMDISK.Windows failed to open teh RAMDISK image.File ERD50.IS could not be loaded. The error code is 16Setup cannot continue. Press any key to exit. Sorry, but I don't believe you. There must be some misunderstanding. Both the menu.lst entries DO NOT look for erd50.is, so the error does not come from it.On the other hand, the error 'Remove disks or other media. OK I've increased the memory inside VMware where I was testing it and since then it starts to boot ERD but then errors out saying 'File I386system32ntoskrnl.exe could not be loaded. The error code is 14.'

The error code is 14.' Tried booting it properly, not in VMware and it also gives the same ntoskrnl error.Any idea why VMware loads the ramdisk about 20x faster? It takes a good 2 or 3 minutes to load normally. I'm going to try getting the files setupldr.bin, ntdetect.com from the ERD iso this time. Maybe that's the problem.I got the one's i'm using atm from an W2K3SP1 ISO but maybe they're slightly different or something.I don't want to seem grumpier that I actually am, but I asked you to EITHER do EXACTLY what I posted:OR to report ANYTHING that you may have done differently. After what, 6 posts later, it comes out you did whatever in a different way and failed to tell it?Please go back to post #17, there are 9 (nine) points in it.Make sure you do EXACTLY those (ALL 9 of them, and that includes the 4 subpoints in point 6.) OR post ANY and ALL differences with those you have made.Wonko.
