Classic WoW servers will be dead in 6 months just like private servers if things are not tuned. This is not a real Vanilla experience and it's just going to be filler in between the next expansion if Blizz does this wrong. Why 1.12.1 is broken? Warriors do like quadruple the damage they did in the starting patches and you can say goodbye to that Arcanite Reaper nostalgia because that thing is now worthless compared to Dal'rends.

Tanks have way too much threat in 1.12.1, which makes tier 1 and 2 a joke. Rogues damage was buffed in AQ with normalization and bug fixes. Itemization is broken for the first couple tiers and makes them even more trivial. If you need a visual aid of how broken 1.12.1 is as far as balance here you go.
How do you tune this with just touching healthpools or boss damage. Simple answer.
There won't be a challenging raid until Naxx without warrior changes to threat (shield slam should not work/exist like it was in vanilla)and reverts to later patch fury and holding off patch 1.8, 1.9 or both on rogue as well. Facerolling these raids with pugs will lead to the entire playerbase lobbying for the next raid to come out, like they never did in real Vanilla. That is if Blizzard doesn't remove the natural patch cycle altogether.
If you see this come out 6 months before the next expansion after BFA drops, rest assured that This is literally a 6 month rush to Naxx like every failed private server and Blizzard will most likely do this with TBC, WOTLK in between further expansions and see how long hey can keep this going. In that case, this is not for the vanilla community. This is for Blizzard influencers to stream who never wanted a 2 year plus game/expansion. They want a dumbed down, easy tour through old content where they can trash it and pump up the next expansion with it's Microtransactions. You already have big time streamers like Asmongold already backtracking there 'no changes' and saying that cross realm BG's are fine and a good thing.

Crossrealm in vanilla is an abomination and these people who found out about Classic Wow in a closed room before the rest of the game population did, are already manipulating their audience to accept BS. I expect BG's to all be released at launch as well and screw things up even more with insanely OP items from AV and taking away more vanilla experiences like pre raid BG PvP. The sad thing is the people who told ignorant people that 1.12.1 was the way to go are the same people that reroll to a 'fresh' 1.12.1 private server every 6 months because the game is completely ruined by not being progressive.

Blizzard would have to rebalance ALL raid content, while having the original release structure/time gating to make this work and I think we all know that isn't happening. Enjoy your 6 month tour streamers. Make sure to hype it up and then abandon it in a few months while you hype the next WoW expansion. Won't be surprised if they throw arena in this abomination as well since the streamers lobbied for it, even though the original leads of WoW said Arena was a huge mistake. Funny thing about WoW before streamers. It grew steadily non stop and was more popular than ever. They did more harm than good to this game.
Most are acting out of complete selfishness and they know that 6 month tours of dumbed down Vanilla, TBC, WOTLK can keep them from getting real jobs for another 6 years. Well I, for one, even though I am now semi-retired, would relish the opportunity to progress through the vanilla-era material at my own pace, instead of feeling pressured to keep up with server-firsters and, if I don't, have the game change out from under me while I'm still trying to see what's in the baseline experience. You've raised some good points about why that might not happen, if classic does result in such a rush and decline soon after release. If it's too much work then why do it at all? Private servers offer the same thing for free and they all die in 6 months. What are people even waiting for? Go faceroll and rush to Naxx in 6 months. Bring 4-5 warriors and 4-5 rogues. The other classes can all AFK the first two tiers. Then go do it all over again and again and again.

This is for Towelie and Asmongold etc for content during down time like the last 4 months and next two of Legion. Private servers patch as well, but it's all over in 6 months. That's what happens when all raiding and instances are broken until Naxx due to mainly warriors damage/threat, which also nullifies healers having to manage mana or casters.
Make sure you pay so that Blizzard influencers can hype the next expansion, while trashing how easy and faceroll vanilla is, even when it's nothing close to vanilla. The same people who never wanted Vanilla to begin with and attacked the community at every turn.
